A 800$ Soviet centry gun can shoot down at least 10 Imperial Warriors which cost 1500$.Want to play multiplayer online? If you're on Windows Vista or newer, you'll need to download a patch like this one to enable LAN support. In RA3 you normally can't mass-produce units (In RA3 if you want to produce tanks without listening that "insufficient funds" message, you need a good economy of at least 4 refinery), so also the defences should be weaker. In C&C3 defences are more effective because you can mass-produce your units pretty easily, so your units can (or should) also mass-die pretty easily when facing enemy defences Normally they would prefer fast anti-air units (such as Bullfrog, IFV and Hydrofoil) or fighters (Apollo, MiG, Jet Tengu), because anti-air towers are static, meanwhile these units can go anywhere. Competitive players does build anti-air towers, but they only build it when their anti-air units aren't able to defend their base yet. Otherwise, try build some bunkers with flak troopers inside, or use turrets of other factions. Do you mean rocket angels? Flak cannons should be able to take down rocket angels pretty easily.

Maybe competive players dont build many anti-air towers in this game?Īnyway tnx for the info, so far I tried several mods and found c&c reloaded to be quite good and am going try red star too. I played quite a bit of c&c 3 and defences seemed to be more balanced to me in that game.

Originally posted by RoflMan:Well I played together with someone against the AI and he had build several flak/anti-air turrets and than the AI showed up with some rocket troopers (not bombers or such) and I thought his defences were really weak for anti air. You can also make some defence maps by yourself:īy the way, you can certainly make some mods which improves defences/towers by yourself. You can search for them on web, or you can go to the online lobby (you can visit ) and let other players send you the maps (if the host chooses a map you don't have, when the game starts, the map will be automatically transferred to you). However, there are many tower defences maps in Red Alert 3. Since this game is competitive-oriented, a play-style focused on defences is usually regarded as "Turtle strategy" and normally people like a more aggressive play-style. Red Alert 3 is actually quite balanced (from online & competitive play's perspective, since all three factions have pretty the same amount of players in Online 1v1 Ladder's top 20)
